What to expect

What to expect

Your first appointment at Manchester Back Care will involve a detailed assessment of your health, including questions about your current condition, medical history and general health.

Your clinician will then ask you to participate in a physical examination, which will involve you performing a series of movements or actions to allow your clinician to assess you. Neurological and orthopaedic tests may also be conducted to assist with forming any relevant diagnosis.

In limited circumstances, your clinician may recommend further tests, such as an X-ray, MRI scan or blood tests, but you will have the opportunity to discuss these with your clinician during this consultation.

Treatment plan

Using the results from the assessments conducted, your clinician will form an opinion on the likely causes of any pain, discomfort or other issue you are experiencing and, if you are suitable for chiropractic care, recommend a treatment plan.

Your recommended treatment plan will be explained to you in full, including costs and any further treatment options. Your clinician may also recommend a series of home exercises and stretches to help optimise your recovery and these will also be explained in detail so that you can perform them safely.

At Manchester Back Care, we treat each of our patients on an entirely individual basis - there is no one size fits all approach. What may be suitable for a family member or your neighbour does not necessarily mean it would be suitable for you, and your clinician will be able to explain each factor of your personal plan.

If your clinician finds that chiropractic care is not suitable for your specific circumstances, they will refer you to your GP or to another healthcare professional they believe may be better suited.

You can be confident that all your treatment notes will be treated as strictly confidential.
